Apps you didn't know were Ukrainian

Since the full-scale russian invasion, Ukraine has taken over the headlines of the world's finest media. Not only are people curious about Ukraine's victories against the russian terrorist state, but also about its material and digital products and whether or not they have been consuming some of them without knowing their origin.

UA apps

While the war is still interrupting the export of material goods, the Ukrainian IT domain keeps releasing and supporting high-quality applications. Here are the two apps created by Ukrainians you've certainly heard about.

1. Grammarly

Grammarly

In 2009, Alex Shevchenko, Max Lytvyn, and Dmytro Lider developed the typing assistant that uses artificial intelligence to correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, engagement, and delivery mistakes in texts. The Grammarly extension available to many internet browsers has more than 30 million active users around the world.

2. Reface

Reface

NeoCortext developed this face-swapping app in 2018 to offer smartphone users of both iOS and Android systems the advanced technologies that would help them recreate their faces with features of others for funny images they can share with their family and friends on social media platforms. Reface was nominated for the Google Play Users’ Choice Awards 2020. On Android alone, Reface was downloaded more than 100 million times.
