Hawai'i, The Aloha State

My home in the middle of the ocean

Hawai'i is an island chain in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and is the 50th state in the U.S. It was formed by volcanoes and consists of 8 main islands. I am from the island of O'ahu, the third largest island in the archipelago and also the most populated. The state's capitol, Honolulu is on O'ahu, as well as the famous Waikiki Beach!

Although I am from Hawai'i, I would not be considered "Hawaiian". The term "Hawaiian" is reserved only for the indigenous people of Hawai'i, those who have Native Hawaiian blood. Since I'm not Native Hawaiian, I am considered a "Hawai'i local" or "kama'aina" which means "one who has lived in Hawai'i for a long time".
P.S. You do not need a passport to travel to Hawai'i from the U.S. Mainland!
