Rock on!🀘

Growing up in a hispanic community, music is something you can't escape.

Music has always been around growing up. Going to the deli, walking down the streets, at home, and especially at parties that don't end til the break of dawn LOL πŸ˜‚. Just when I thought i'll have a free weekend, my mom would wake my siblings and I up by blasting the classic spanish hits πŸ™ƒπŸ˜…. My parents have a very diverse taste in music so I grew up listening to many different genres. Including Rock, Indie, Hip hop, Soul music, Raggae, jazz, etc..

Fast Foward...

June

The month that started it all. My boyfriend and I were scrolling through instagram laughing at memes when we stumbled on an ad. This ad was stating that one of our favorite bands, that we grew up listening to during our scene phase LOL, Emo kitties was coming to NY: Crown The Empire. A couple days later I came across an artist, Action Bronson , Instagram story and he was announcing that he was coming to Flushing Meadow Parks! and FOR FREE! My boyfriend and I knew we had to attend. It was a great summer day, but it was a summer day afterall πŸ˜‚. The heat was killing us, even our cold waters got lukewarm 😩

July

After that concert, my boyfriend and I were on the search for other concerts to attend. That's when we saw another band we really like, Crumb, was coming to Brooklyn! FOR FREE TOO it was just too good to be true, but true it was! The only thing we had to do was reserve tickets. Only 2 bands were going to attend so we were really hype that Crumb was going to have more stage time. The crowd loved them so much that we asked for an encore and they came out to stage and performed one last song for us πŸ₯°. The concert ended an hour later than expected.

August

And so the journey continues. I booked 2 tickets to see The Devil Wears Prada. Another rock band we grew up listening to. I wanted to join in on the moshpits, but honestly the idea of being kicked or punched didnt sound ideal to me LOL πŸ˜…. BUT the jumping, shoving, and head banging was really fun! However my neck was killing me the next day πŸ˜‚. No regrets.

Attending these concerts expanded my playlist HEHE. I got to listen to new bands and hang out til late at night. Which is new to me because I have curfew 😩 but this year is really the year for concerts and I still got a few more to attend! YAY! My boyfriend posted our recents experiences, check em' out if youd like!
