Assida Zgougou

Tunisia's Sweetness in a bowl

Every year, on prophet Muhammad’s (phuh) birthday (El Mouled), Tunisians make a delicious pudding called Assidat Zgougou. It is made from the grains of the Aleppo pines . This dessert consists of a thick layer of the pine pudding and then a thin layer of regular vanilla custard. It is then decorated with ground nuts, whole nuts, and little pieces of candy. Recipe
