Meditations on Meditation

A Liberating Practice

It's fascinating how a practice so outwardly simple as meditation could be so powerful. At its basest, it requires little more than your mind and some time. It's largely recognized as a practice to achieve clarity. It is characterized by the training of attention and awareness -- and may allow one to accept any thoughts that arise. To observe without judgement. Refocus to what is personally important for oneself proves to be liberating, especially in modern Western society in which unsolicited information is much more likely to be consumed on a daily basis. In facing yourself, you'll more closely listen to your internal world, which can guide you to take actions with more personally fulfilling results. You'll become more receptive to the beauty of your immediate world and renew apprecietion for the simplicities of daily life. If meditation can shift a world view, it can change the world.
