A month ago, she was in Portugal learning to surf. Back at home in
Estonia, the young woman was eager to improve her new skills. Only there
were no waves.

During her family holiday, Pumpkin stayed in a traditional coastal village known for its white beaches. She enjoyed the short walking distance from the
ocean. Home, however, is different. In Estonia, she lives in the forest surrounded by a few
neighbours, occasional wild animals, a black cat named Turbo and her two brothers.
One afternoon. Pumpkin sat behind a kitchen table and browsed on the laptop at home. She
felt frustrated because she couldn't find any surfing opportunities near
home. It all changed until she stumbled on a page on Instagram displaying
balance boards.
"Mum! Mum!" said Pumpkin enthusiastically, looking to make eye contact
with her mother, who was packing her ice skates and rushing to work. "I
know what I want for my birthday!"
