Guinea pigs come in all kinds of breeds. There are short hair, long haired, curly haired and even spiked hair ones! They tend to do better in pairs, but some enjoy their alone time, too.

A guinea pig makes a great first pet, but they do require daily feeding and watering. Ideally, parents help children with daily responsibilities until the child feels comfortable on their own.
