Let's just start off by saying that Lake Tahoe is a truly unique destination as it is a clear, cobalt blue lake that
is tucked into the snowy Sierra Nevada mountain range that welcomes everyone.
Whether you enjoy crisp winter days or the
warm summer sun, there is something to do for everyone in the family!
A National Treasure
Lake Tahoe is the largest Alpine lake in North America
It is 1,645 feet deep, 22 miles long and 12 miles wide. It is the second deepest lake in America, next to Crater Lake in Oregon, and its shoreline is 75 miles long.
"The sunrise lovely, calm, hushed. Yellow amber light touching the mountains of the western shore, tinting the purple
lake yellow. … The flash and roar of the waves on the shore begins suddenly … a hundred voices stirred by the wind in
the forest.”
- John Muir, sunrise journal entry while camping at Lake Tahoe, Summer 1888.
