Games that I finished playing in July

The Survivalists

About game:
A living world full of surprises, secrets and danger awaits in The Survivalists, an adventure-filled survival sandbox set in The Escapists universe. Explore, build, craft and even train monkeys with up to three friends in a desperate bid to survive. Have you got what it takes to be a Survivalist?

Review: 8/10

The Survivalists is a great sandbox game that will leave you discovering and exploring for hours whether you’re playing alone or with friends. Its engaging and colourful pixelated environment makes you easily spend hours exploring the world. One interesting thing is having monkeys to do your jobs for you or even fight along with you! However, the crafting system is a little confusing, but it won’t get in your way much as it is still a good survival game that you can tackle with friends online.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

About game:
Embark on an epic adventure full of whimsy, wonder, and high-powered weaponry! Roll your own multiclass hero then shoot, loot, slash, and cast on a quest to stop the Dragon Lord.

Review: 10/10

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is an absolute blast. It is the closest one that any game developer has come to recreating Dungeons & Dragons. One of the highlights of this game is that it gives you the actual feeling of sitting down around a table playing D&D. Experiencing chaos when a dungeon master have mere seconds to improvise a way forwards for their players, having to throw good plans out of windows, arguments that might overtake a group of friends just trying to have fun, but it all works out in the end. The story is simple yet silly, plenty of side quests and objectives to farm while the main story progresses. Loved every character and their dialogues too, unique, and quirky in their own way. So, if you are a fan of loot shooters, you will like this. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is upbeat and fun from start to finish, it is worth playing. It is now one of my favorite games because its just so unique enough in its own way that it makes it special.

Raft

About game:
Raft throws you and your friends into an epic oceanic adventure! Alone or together, players battle to survive a perilous voyage across a vast sea! Gather debris, scavenge reefs and build your own floating home, but be wary of the man-eating sharks.

Review: 6/10

Raft was one of the first few games that I bought when I started gaming which was in late 2020. The final chapter just got released recently and I was so excited to play it because I was waiting for years for it to be complete. What hooked me into it is the moment you start playing, you will spawn on a 2 x 2 raft with a hook on your hand and drifting in the middle of the ocean to nowhere. You gotta collect materials floating in sea in order to expand your raft before it gets eaten by a shark. So from there, you gotta discover the story and what happened to you, why did you land on a raft and etc. Story was interesting at the begining but when I reached the ending, it was anticlimatic and made me lost on what the story was originally about. Felt like the developers could've done better on the ending instead of rushing it to be complete. Hence why I gave 6/10. I enjoyed the game with friends but I didn't enjoy the story but still a fun game to try if you are looking for co-op survival games to try with your friends.
