The mineral water in Banite municipality is hyperthermal (43), slightly alkaline (ph 7.2), with a flow rate of 6-7 l/sec. In terms of mineralization, the water in the municipality of Banite has been compared to the world-famous Czech resort of Karlovy Vary. Contains nitrogen, hydrocarbons, sulfate, sodium and fluorine compounds. Based on the specificity of the mineral water in the resort, a number of diseases are treated, such as: diseases of the musculoskeletal system, diseases of the peripheral nervous system, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, etc. There is one of the best rehabilitation centers in Bulgaria, part of the National Complex "Specialized Rehabilitation Hospitals" EAD is located in the municipal center - the village of Banite, 60 km. east of the town of Smolyan and 120 km. south of the city of Plovdiv, in a picturesque area with wonderful conditions for recreation and tourism.
