They are South Korean boy group who are under the company, Big Hit
Entertainment. They debuted on June 13, 2013 with the song, "No More
Dream". Their fans are called the "ARMY" and the official fan color is purple.
BTS go by many names such as "Bangtan Boys", "Bulletproof Boy Scouts" and
"Beyond The Scene", the original name of BTS (Bangtan Boys) means to be
bulletproof, to block out all the stereotypes, negativity, criticism and
expectations of the young people today.
Their lyrics touch on the topics on sensitive topics and social issues
such as bullying, expectations and ideals in society, mental health,
female empowerment and anxiety.
They are also well known for their choreographed dances and vocals which
bring out an amazing performance on live shows.
They won over 277 awards in South Korea and abroad (including a Billboard
and American Music Award), attained 13 Guinness World Records, did charity
work (which inspired fans to do the same), been appointed as ambassadors
for tourism in South Korea, placed in Time Magazine's Top 100, appeared on
numerous US TV shows, spoke at a United Nations Youth conference and the
list goes on. With all of their great successes and achievements they have
made over the years, they continue to be one of the most beloved and
influential K-pop artists in the world.
