OPEN HRTG; is a digital documentation database of ancient cultural heritage. We teamed up with Polycam, a free 3D capture app, to make cultural archiving accessible for everyone. By collecting your 3D-scans of objects in musea, heritage sites and institutes, we create a free acces database to objects and places of historical value through digital technologies. Through your acts of archiving, we open up the heritage and make the museum accessible in 3D.

Museums, universities, other institutes and their warehouses are piled up with millions of historical objects, reachable for only a small number of people, or (temporarily) hidden for the public. OPEN HRTG; is an open source platform with a mission to give life to cultural heritage outside of the institute and make it accessible for the the public eye. Free access to our 3D database reduces geographic and financial barriers to explore important objects to learn their stories. We believe in the value of sharing data and unlock its full potential foreducation, research and other non-commercial purposes. Using the free Polycam app, you can scan the world around you, and add to open heritage in 3D.
Everyone can be an archivist.
