Lasagna is one of the oldest italian dishes, probably one of the most
famous too!
It was first mentioned in 1282 in the "Bolognesi Memorials" and later
on, in the early 14th century in the "Book of Cookery".
This delicious dish traditionally consists of,
"al dente" stacked layers of pasta, alternating with fillings of ground
meat and tomato sauce, bΓ©chamel sauce, cheese and seasonings. It is
usally topped off with grated mozzarella and baked in the oven. This
beautiful delicacy is then cut in squares and served generously.
Variations of this mouth watering dish
are also served everywhere. From fish versions to vegetarian options,
there's a wide variety to choose from, making this speciality not only
delectable but also versatile.
To quote Garfield, who is a fellow Lasagna
lover: "(Lasagna) It's not a dish. It's the stuff of dreams. It's the
food of gods. (...) It's a way of life."
