Matcha is finely ground powder of specially grown and processed
green tea leaves, traditionally consumed in East Asia. The green tea
plants used for matcha are shade-grown for three to four weeks before
harvest; the stems and veins are removed during processing. During
shaded growth, the plant Camellia sinensis produces more theanine and
caffeine.
I prefer matcha as my source of caffeine in the morning due to its
benefits. Apart from the benefits, I like making it using a traditional
whisker and a Japanese bowl. This routine makes it zen for me and I find
it a great way to start the day.
During summer time, I like my matcha drink cold and if it's a cooler
weather I make hot matcha drink. I normally do matcha latte than having
it as it is. I use oat milk and tastes so delicious. Regular milk works
just as great too.
