Neuroscience nurses care for people with a variety of neurological conditions and disorders across the lifespan. There are many specialities encompassed within this field of practice, such as neurosurgery, neurotrauma (brain and spinal cord injury), long-term neurological conditions (i.e. stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's), and life-limiting conditions (such as motor neurone disease). Caring for someone with a neurological condition is a huge responsibility so nurses need to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to meet their needs.
