Rostock is a city on the Warnow River on the north coast of Germany. It
is known for the University of Rostock, founded in 1419. In the
botanical garden there is an arboretum and a rock garden. The Gothic
Marienkirche in the old town has an astronomical clock from the 15th
century. Nearby are the cobbled New Market and City Hall, which features
Gothic and Baroque elements.
