The Women's Six Nations Rugby Union is an annual championship for women's national rugby teams from England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. It is one of the most important rugby competitions in the world for women, second only to the World Cup in terms of sheer size and popularity.
Women's rugby is played under the same laws (rules) as the men's game, which is an anomaly in the world of sports.
Each team plays six matches over the course of several weeks. Although women's games do not attract as much attention as the men's, it is nonetheless fiercely competitive.
The 2022 reigning champions are England, who have won the title a total of 12 times. France and Ireland are also regular contenders for the trophy.
