In 1908, Ethel Hedgemon brought alive her dream of forming a support network for like-minded women, with the founding of Alpha Kappa Alpha,the first Negro Greek-letter sorority. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority was founded on January 15, 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC. In 1913, Alpha Kappa Alpha was Incorporated. As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inorporated, I've had the opportunity to learn and serve with a group of amazing women. U.S. Vice President, Kamala Harris, is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated!!!
