It is a large administrative, industrial and cultural centre of Ukraine

Since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine, the Russian troops have caused damage to the city of Mykolaiv in the total amount of over 17 million dollars. 121 residents of Mykolaiv have died, including one child. 535 civilians were injured, including 6 children. Damaged or completely destroyed in the city:

536 private houses;
48 educational institutions;
42 utility facilities;
15 cultural institutions;
12 healthcare institutions;
9 institutions of physical culture;
3 institutions of social protection;
28 other civilian objects.
